The HBM Building Process

Building a new home is a major undertaking...
Our building process is designed to make creating your home as smooth and pleasant an experience as we possibly can. Though each project is unique and will vary depending on complexity and other factors, what follows is a typical framework of events:

1. Initial Consultation - During this meeting we discuss the project, establish a design brief and budget.

2. Concept Plan - A concept plan is produced which becomes the basis for further consultation and firming up of ideas. This is typically completed within 7 working days.

3. Working Drawings - Upon finalising details and changes, working Drawings, including engineering details, are produced within 20 working days

4. Application for Building Consent - Working plans are submitted to local building authority for approval. This process generally takes around 6 weeks

5.Construction Commences - Upon receipt of the building consent construction commences, regular reviews and consultations are scheduled

6.Completion and review - All project work is finalised & reviewed; the local building authority completes it's inspection & issues a certificate of compliance.
